Hello Everyone,
Just a quick update... My Mom is in the middle of her 6th and last round of chemotherapy. Her last treatment of the series is Taxol and she'll have this Thursday, May 8th. The great news is that she withstood six full rounds of the platinum drug treatment and the doctors and nurses are very impressed by this. The bad news is that this last round has left her feeling really awful.
She'll get about 10 days to recover from this last chemo treatment, and then she'll have surgery on the 21st or 22nd to remove one of the two chemo ports (the IP port in her abdomen). They will keep the IV port in her chest for two years to make CT scans easier.
The wonderful team at Bogus Basin produced a fabulous music video to give Mom motivation to get through her 6th and last round of chemotherapy and pave a positive way toward full recovery. You guys are the greatest!
